Handheld recorders

Since our focus is on immersive audio, we look for recorders with at least four microphone inputs (XLR).
While other handheld recorders are great and offer great advantages, they are not suitable for our purposes. Therefore, we are not focusing on them.
However, these smaller handheld recorders will serve you well in many situations and give you an advantage. It's never a matter of good or bad, but rather whether something is suitable.
So, please refrain from flame wars and statements like "This is the ultimate recorder for all purposes" or such a like. 

We will start this list with the TASCAM Portacapture X8.
Then, we will take a look at the Zoom F8n and the Zoom F8n Pro. Which are not handheld recorders in the strictest sense of the word.
We will also talk about the Zoom H6, which is no longer the newest model, but still serves us well in many occasions.
