Tutorials for advanced microphone systems
Tutorials for advanced microphone systems
Inspired by the ECHO project we will show you advanced microphone systems, not only in ambisonics.
We are convinced, that these systems will also inspire you and may be helpful, if you have to record an orchestra. No matter which size.
As these microphone systems are advanced (howly cow!), we kindly ask for your patience. We are still in the process of gaining experiences ourselves and then it will take some more time to boil it down to microphone systems which will be affordable.
The "Air Cage"
The "Air Cage" is another setup from which provides a good translation to Dolby Atmos and fold-downs.
The "ESMA-3D"
The article about the ESMA-3D will explain how to build it on a budget and why this has been done in a slightly different way than the others. This system can be easily be folded into Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 mixes.
The PentaSphere
This microphone array was used at the ECHO project. It's quite challenging to rebuild, but we found a way to do it with commonly available gear. Check out the article about the great PentaSphere
The PCMA-3D v2
The PCMA-3D v2 setup is the first setup we are tinkering with. The tutorial has now been publish along with the shopping list. This is the second microphone array of the ECHO project, we build as a budget-version.
More tutorials are work in progress.
