Tutorial - OCT-3D or OCT 9

This is an extension of the OCT surround system tutorial. 

Additionally to the immersive soundscape in the horizontal plane, the "height" information of it will now be recorded too.

The advantage of OCT is, you can setup the recording angle at the venue to meet your imaginations of how it should sound.
The number (as shown in the article) are just orientation points for your convenience.

We like this OCT-3D setup, as it is easy to setup and it delivers a nice and very stable reproduction of the soundscape.

You may not always have supercardioids or hypercardioids available. However, that is no reason to forgo using the OCT-3D for your recordings.
You can also use cardioids in all positions. Honestly, the results probably won't be the same, but it's always much better than nothing.
