AirCage
This microphone array has been invented by Nick Wollage for the ECHO project. We provide a budget friendly version you may carry in a bigger backpack for field-recordings. This article will give you more details.
Corey/Martin Array
This array isn't very popular, but it still has its fans.
One advantage is that one can change the width of the wide cardioids in post production. For more information, please see the article.
ESMA-3D
The ESMA-3D is pretty straight forward to setup. It delivers a nice and smooth soundscape and can be still packed into a regular backpack. If you want to know more about this great microphone array, please find this article about it.
HOSMA
This is a prototype of a 7th order ambisonic microphone system build by a team of the University of Applied Sciences of Cologne. This article is not the whole story. Its intention is to show you the way to the rabbit hole.
Linear ORTF-3D
This is a very new microphone system invented by Felix Krückels and Helmut Wittek.
It builds on Schoeps' ORTF-3D system. It is quite compact as it resides on an one meter long bar and uses eight microphones. If you are interested in more check out this article.
OCT - 9+
This is an advancement of the "ambisonic.studio" system OCT-9.
It allows you to make recordings in which all channels can easily be routed to a 7.1.4 setup, such as Dolby Atmos.

PAMA
The PAMA (Prototype Atmos Microphone Array) is another array of the ECHO project. It seeks to self-correct observed issues with playback systems.

PCMA - 3D v2
The PCMA - 3D v2 has been used in the ECHO project as well and has been invented by Hyunkook Lee from the APL, University of Huddersfield. It is a further development of the well-known PCMA (v1). If you want to rebuild it yourself please find the article about it.
PentaSphere
The PentaSphere is also a microphone array used at the ECHO project. We finally found a way to setup a sphere without a sphere. If you want to know how, please find the article about it.
