The Theile Trapezoid or also called the "cadioid trapezoid" is an easy to setup array for recording backgrounds and ambiemence / atmos.

It can be easily combined with other microphone arrays, which have a focus on frontal sounds. 

It is pretty straightforward and easy to handle.
